FUN HOME
Every once in a while a musical comes along that surprises, moves and excites audiences in ways only a truly landmark musical can. Based on the acclaimed graphic novel by Alison Bechdel, FUN HOME is the bold new Tony Award-winning Best Musical that introduces us to Alison at three different ages, revealing memories of her uniquely dysfunctional family – her mother, brothers and volatile, brilliant, enigmatic father – that connect with her in surprising new ways.
A finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, FUN HOME is a refreshingly honest, wholly original musical about seeing your parents through grown-up eyes. The “groundbreaking,” “life-affirming” and “exquisite” musical FUN HOME broke new ground and received raves from critics and audiences alike, winning five 2015 Tony Awards including Best Musical and making history along the way.
“FUN HOME deals with the struggles and the joys of family whether you grow up in Buckingham Palace or a Pennsylvania funeral home.”
—Carole Shorenstein Hays
Hailed by The New York Times as a "beautiful heartbreaker of a musical," FUN HOME "finds a shining clarity that lights up the night" in one of the best-reviewed productions in years. With music by four-time Tony Award-nominee Jeanine Tesori and book and lyrics by Tony Award-nominated playwright Lisa Kron, FUN HOME is a "miracle" production directed by Sam Gold (New York Magazine). New York Daily News, in a 5 star review, called it "achingly beautiful," Variety hailed it as "warm, funny and heartbreaking," while New York Observer simply proclaimed it "a triumph!"
